Government Health Care Bill Passes In The House: One Step Closer to Full Blown Socialism

On Saturday November 07, 2009 The House of Representatives voted to pass the 2,000 page government run health care bill .  It narrowly passed with strong opposition from Republicans.  There were also 39 democrats who voted no to Nancy Pelosi’s plan.

Although this is being celebrated as a victory by many democrats in Washington and by the far left,  the majority of Americans are not partaking in the celebration.  Americans have become increasingly aware of the flaws in this bill and the flaws of government run health care, in general.  Now many are becoming fearful that their government has far overstepped its bounds.

If the bill becomes a law it will be a clear statement of intentions of the democrat party within the federal government of the United States of America. The democrat party is undoubtedly attempting to transform the American governmental structure into a democratic socialist system. The government of the left appears to be one where the government will arbitrarily take from groups of its choosing and give arbitrarily to other groups of its choosing.

On the surface, this may sound good to some.  Of course, democrat politicians have been planting the mental seeds for decades.  Disdain for the wealthy and hatred for the entrepreneur who risk their own money to build businesses that benefit employees, communities and yes, the owners themselves.  People have been taught to look at the word profit as some kind of evil.  The irony is that profit from the private businesses is what allows governments to operate.  It is the real wealth created by entrepreneurs and employees of entrepreneurs that governments tax or confiscate.

Even more ironic is that the same person who dislikes the rich, supports high taxes on the rich and supports government health care does not realize that he will be the victim of this bill. Why?  The “evil” rich people whom the government targeted in the name of financial equality probably included his company’s owner.

The federal government uses social issues as a tool to gain more power.  Many times in American History the government rallied people to social causes. Often times, the cause is some form of perceived unfairness that can easily be sensationalized by politicians.

Here’s how it works. The government takes advantage of the kindness of Americans.  Once the politicians and news have stirred up the fear, anger, guilt or other desired emotion it declares a crisis.  Then, it proposes a government solution to the people. The people, generally wishing the best for their fellow man, are most times open to the proposal submitted by government. However, this is exactly what the politicians count on.  This is how bad government programs end up being funded by good people.

What about good intentions of government you might say? Regardless of how good the intentions or how well the plan is presented, the government “solution” always does the following:

  1. Confiscates earned money from tax payers
  2. Gives money to politically connected people to help execute the program
  3. Gives  the tax payer money to people that have generally not earned it.
  4. Increases the power of government
  5. Decreases liberty of the people

Think of any government program and ask yourself if it does or doesn’t do the things stated above in some manner. If you look into it and are honest with yourself, you will find that government programs, indeed, do all of the above things.

In addition, the programs of the government have generally become failing operations in almost every case. Why?  The government does not have to pass the test of sustainability that private businesses do?  What test is that? The profit and loss test.  If a company makes profit, it is the world’s way of telling a person that the operation is productive and sustainable. If it makes losses for too long, it is the world’s way of saying the operation has not effectively met the correct needs is not sustainable.

Therefore, when businesses operate at a loss they must change or go out of business. The government, on the other hand, just takes more money out of people’s pay checks to fund its programs.  The result is low quality services and high prices.  You can see this with any government program.  And most times the program will grant government more powers over your life.

It will be no different this time around with government health care. Only this time the stakes are high. This time around if the government program is consistent with it’s track record, it is not a case of being inconvenienced by a long line at the DMV or poor service at the Post Office.  This time you will be inconvenienced by a long line at the emergency room and your health threatened by poor service in the hospitals.

In the end, America may actually have to endure this program to discover it’s almost inevitable failure.  In fact, this time it will be even worse.  It empowers a parasitic wealth destruction machine and allows the government to assume control over our health, our bodies and our very lives.

This government run health care plan is one more step toward socialism and one giant leap backward for America.
