The average American who has yet to hear the wake-up call will instead be woken up by a kick in the teeth from our government. America is going away and what it is being replaced with is a nightmare.
The House of Representatives passed the cap and trade legislation 219-212 this evening. If this bill ends up passing it will increase taxes and energy costs. It will damage economy. Jobs will be destroyed in droves in the productive private sector while “creating” relatively few unproductive government make-work jobs.
This bill is again over 1,000 pages and nobody has had time to read it all. Again, the whole political process screams of favors, leverage and pull.
So money is going to be taken from people (in the form of taxes) to implement a program that will tax them even more.

Let me share with you a recent experience I had with a Click It orTicket police stop. There are a couple reasons I would like to share this information with you.
- Make you aware of how low the government will go
- Help you recognize this legalized form of extortion and harassment of free citizens
Here is how it went. I was driving down a road that has a series of hills. So there is a stretch of flat road that leads into a couple hills with a valley in the middle. On either side of the the set of hills on the flat stretch there is a pickup truck on the side of the road. In it sits a police officer. He is not in his uniform. He is in a flannel shirt and a ball cap. He is there watching cars go by and radioing ahead what cars had people with seat belts not buckled. The drivers drive up the hill and after cresting over the hill they have a surprise.
On the other side of the hill is the sting area with a dozen patrol cars. 4 were on one side. 4 were in the middle. 4 were on the other side. Here’s where they would stop the cars.
At this point a police officer would smugly ask if people were wearing their seat belt. They would let you know you had better tell the truth. Then they would let you know that they had their undercover cop spies radioing ahead. They were very proud to be harassing their fellow citizens and neighbors.
There were probably anywhere from 15 – 20 police officers involved in this clever operation. Most were writing tickets busily. Others were waiting in cars for people that might be attempting to turn around. And of course there were the police officers stopping cars and trying to intimidate people coming home from their jobs to see their families. I was not so proud to be an American seeing this whole shakedown.

Back on January 1, 2009 I had posted about a possible newspaper bailout. Now another unscrupulous politician, Benjamin Cardin (D) is proposing The Newspaper Revitalization Act.
If this ever moves forward, there is going to be a lot of nonsense from politicians about the newspaper industry and tradition, and so on.
The fact is that they have been failing because they: Read More »
Is perception reality? That is the question at hand. In a completely subjective, emotional sense maybe. However, outside of this ego-centric emotionally based personal perception, reality often differs greatly from perception.
I argue that the conventional perception of government is most definitely not reality.
